Academic excellence is the foundation for our future success. The Greek community at Chico State is devoted to creating an environment that is conducive to learning. Academics are a primary focus of Greek life. In each organization, there are numerous majors represented and the well-rounded student can benefit from the experiences and advice of other students who have similar academic interests and goals.
Each chapter encourages success in academics through a system of support and study. In almost all groups, weekly study hours are mandatory and programs on topics such as time management and enhancing study methods are offered.
The Panhellenic Council requires a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher to participate in recruitment. Individuals chapters also hold their members up to a high standard of scholarship in order to qualify for leadership positions or to take part in other sorority events.
Simply being a member of a Panhellenic chapter means that you are a student committed to leadership. Chapters are always providing training and development for their members to be leaders on Chico State's campus.
Each organization has many opportunities for leadership roles, including being on a committee, the chapter's executive board, or the Panhellenic executive board! Through these experiences, you will attend Greek leadership trainings, annual conferences with collegians from other universities, and receive personal and professional development.
Service has been an important value of Panhellenic chapters since their founding. It is through service that we help make our communities a better place while simultaneously developing young women. In addition to serving our communities, we make an impact on a national level through each organization's specific philanthropic focus.

In addition to the Panhellenic chapters, we also have Interfraternity Council and Multicultural Greek Council, for a total of 33 fraternities and sororities at Chico State!
Supporting other organizations on campus outside of the greek community helps us live the Wildcat Way! We partner with other departments and student groups to put on events, support programs, and learn how to be better students.
Greek Week is our week-long annual service competition, where we team up with chapters from Interfraternity Council and Multicultural Greek Council to impact the North State. In 2019, we saved over 1,000 lives with donated blood, gave over 1.5 tons of food to the Wildcat Food Pantry on campus, and raised over 30,000 for the Chico Cares Campaign!
Keeping students safe is an important part of the college experience. We receive training each semester on Title IX policies and have open conversations about how to have healthy relationships of all types. We partner with the Campus Alcohol and Drug Education Center (CADEC) to provide resources and education to our members. We communicate with University Police to ensure safety at all of our weekly registered events.
